Philadelphia Phillies star Nick Castellanos has become quite famous for messing with media members with his home runs in the most opportune times. But on Saturday, one of his foul balls spelled doom for a Phillies reporter’s laptop in the press box.
Tim Kelly, a Phillies reporter who contributes to Phillies Nation, Just Baseball, and Bleacher Report, happened to be sitting in the wrong spot in the press box during Saturday’s game between the Phillies and the Baltimore Orioles.
Kelly took to social media to share that a foul ball from Castellanos destroyed his laptop.
“A Nick Castellanos foul ball into the press box just broke my laptop,” tweeted Kelly.

Castellanos’ long-standing reputation of inadvertently messing with media members of course dates back to his infamous home run while former Cincinnati Reds broadcaster Thom Brennaman was issuing an on-air apology for a homophobic slur he used on-air.
But when it comes to Castellanos, this is just the tip of the iceberg. The two-time All-Star has interrupted several emotional moments in the broadcast booth in recent years, most recently when he hit a home run last season while former Phillies manager Charlie Manuel was talking about his recovery process from a stroke.
For whatever reason, Castellanos truly has an uncanny ability of messing up the standard operations of media members covering his games.
Hopefully Tim Kelly had some insurance on that laptop. And if not, he should absolutely consider it if he plans on covering Phillies games for the foreseeable future…
