Audience Sports’ Undeniable interview show is entering its third season Wednesday, and it’s doing so with a bang thanks to an interview with former MLB star and current FS1 analyst Pete Rose. In a trailer sent out in advance, Rose speaks to host Joe Buck in strong terms about his gambling and his ban from baseball (and from the Baseball Hall of Fame in particular):
The key part of that clip has Rose saying “Who cares if I want to make a legal bet and go home and watch it? Who am I hurting? I’m not hurting anybody, I’m living my life.”
Rose then goes on to say the Hall of Fame isn’t full of great people, and to say that baseball hasn’t been clear with what he needs to do for full reinstatement.
“I know a lot of guys in the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is not full of altar boys. You want me to reconfigure my life? Tell me what you want me to do.”
Of course, there’s much more to Rose’s ban than that, including evidence that emerged in 2015 that contrary to his claims, he bet on baseball as a player as well as as a manager. And his comments are just one side of the story; MLB commissioner Rob Manfred’s 2015 discussion of why he wouldn’t lift Rose’s ban is worth watching too. Still, it’s interesting to hear Rose discuss this in such fiery terms.
Judging by those clips, this should be quite the interview, and one that might say some interesting things about where Rose’s relationship with baseball sits. The full episode will air at 9 p.m. Wednesday on AT&T’s Audience Network. And the trailer for Season 3 of Undeniable also suggests there are more notable interviews to come:
Undeniable airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. Eastern/Pacific on Audience.
