The Miami Marlins fell to .500 after a tough loss against the Washington Nationals on Thursday. The game was largely uneventful for Miami, as three errors and just four mediocre innings from Tom Koehler led to the defeat. One of the Marlins runs’ came from a Christian Yelich solo homer in the seventh. Insignificant, right? Wrong.

With Yelich’s 20th home run, Miami radio host Brendan Tobin of 790 The Ticket has to eat crow. For real.

Tobin made the somewhat arrogant bet that if Yelich managed to hit 20 home runs (clearly he didn’t believe he could) that he’d eat actually crow. Well, Yelich went deep for the 20th time and now Tobin has to face the fowl consequences.

“I’m a man of my word,” Tobin told the Miami Herald recently. “I’m not running from it. I’m going to sit down, tuck a napkin under my shirt and eat every single piece.”

Tobin decided he’s going with unbreaded. Fresh crow a la carte?

“I feel like breaded is the soft way out. If I’m going down, I’m going down right.”

Yelich made sure to remind Tobin of his bet, tweeting him a bird emoji.
