The Milwaukee Brewers scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning of Saturday’s game against the New York Mets to open up a 6-0 and effectively put the game away. But anyone who turned the game off once the Brewers blew it open missed quite a live mic moment in the ninth inning.
New York shortstop Francisco Lindor led the inning off for the Mets and quickly faced an 0-2 count against Milwaukee’s star reliever, Devin Williams. Lindor fought off Williams’ first 0-2 offering, fouling it away. Judging by his reaction, we’re guessing that home plate umpire Adrian Johnson was not happy with that foul ball.
The ball appeared to hit Johnson on the arm. The umpire quickly groaned and said “m*****f*****.” Johnson’s groan and subsequent curse were picked up loud and clear on the Fox broadcast.

Perhaps adding insult to injury for Johnson was that the foul ball only delayed the inevitable. Lindor was retired on the next pitch, grounding out to Williams. We’re guessing that Johnson — and probably some Fox executives — wish that the 1-3 groundout had come one pitch earlier.
