After making headlines for calling Angel Reese out, John Kruk opted to beef with a lesser-known target: a Chicago White Sox fan.

With a light crowd on hand the last place White Sox game against the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday afternoon, the broadcast mics were picking up some of the louder fans in attendance. One of those fans caught Kruk’s attention, and not in a good way, leading to a back and forth through the broadcast.

“Kruk, come say hi!” the fan could be heard yelling during the seventh inning.

“Nope.” Kruk said with disgust. “I will not. Someone must be relaying that — that we’ve discussed them being loud.”

That might sound harsh. But realistically, getting called out by Kruk during the broadcast is probably more satisfying than a meek wave from the booth.

Play-by-play voice Tom McCarthy agreed the fan was probably being told they were talking about him on the broadcast, noting it’s easy to do that in this day and age. To which Kruk quickly answered, “technology sucks.”

Technology might be a thorn in Kruk’s side, but whether it’s feuding with a fan during a broadcast or pleading for help with getting access to his email, these battles continue to serve as a good source of entertainment. But where Kruk is wrong about technology, he’s right about fans trying to be heard on TV. There’s nothing worse than loud fans desperately trying to interrupt a broadcast. It’s why Keith Hernandez recently suggested silencing a fan by stuffing a hot dog in their mouth.
