This is one of the most incredible, unfortunate incidents I can remember in quite some time.

Roger Hoover, the play by play broadcaster for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (AA affiliate of the Miami Marlins), had his computer destroyed by a foul ball on Wednesday night. That really sucks!

Hoover was also calling Jacksonville’s game at the time, and managed to stay composed on the air while watching his computer get destroyed.

Here’s the damage. It isn’t pretty.

But because Hoover is a TRUE PROFESSIONAL, he plugged the computer into his hotel room’s TV to type up the game notes for Thursday night’s game.

SBNation’s Grant Brisbee wrote up a hilarious breakdown of the 48 second clip that you should also check out.

It wouldn’t be too much for the Marlins, the parent organization of the Jumbo Shrimp, to spend the thousand dollars or so to replace his computer, would it? They could definitely use a positive story, given how much chaos has surrounded the franchise over the last year or so, and paying for a minor league broadcaster’s destroyed laptop would definitely bring them some good vibes.
