Athletics games have been a constant thorn in the side of opposing announcers throughout the 2025 season. On Tuesday night, that was the case for Texas Rangers announcer Dave Raymond.

During the top of the fourth inning of Tuesday night’s game, Raymond noted the struggles the Athletics had while hitting with runners on base during Monday’s game.

“Last night, Oak — Oakland — last night the Athletics, itinerant Athletics, 1-for-16 with runners on base,” he said.

Last Dive Bar shared the clip on X along with a helpful definition of “itinerant,” “traveling from place to place.”

During Monday’s game, Raymond also caught himself referring to the Athletics as “Oakland” on multiple occasions while also referring to them as the “Wandering Athletics” before the game.

This is not the first time Raymond has commented on the Athletics situation. When the Rangers were playing the Athletics in April, he called them the “homeless Athletics” while also criticizing the decision not to identify as Sacramento while playing there.

Raymond is far from alone.

Whether commenting on the team’s name or the many flaws in the setup of their temporary home ballpark, the Athletics have been a punching bag since the start of the season, if not before.

Smart money says that more criticism is on its way.
