The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz may not be the partnership the title indicates for much longer.
As Jon “Stugotz” Weiner continues to float in and out of the lineup of the show he co-created with Le Batard two decades ago, he has taken yet another clear shot at his longtime cohost. The latest comments were made during a guest-hosting run on the Unbuttoned podcast with Chris Simms at NBC Sports, as Stugotz mocked the lack of focus at The Le Batard Show while criticizing Le Batard’s sour behavior behind the scenes.
“The problem is when I’m there, we don’t talk football. When I hang out with you, we always talk football,” Stugotz said after Simms teased him for his irregular appearances on the Le Batard Show, which NBC Sports licenses for its Peacock service. “Fortunately for me … I have arrived at a place in my career after 20 years with Le Batard, where I’ll show up to that show whenever the f*ck I feel like showing up to that show. How does that sound?”
The complaint came after Stugotz led off the show by airing dirty laundry between him and his usual co-host.
“I can go without you calling me a dummy,” Stugotz said to Simms. “I get enough of that from f*cking Le Batard. I consider you to be a friend of mine, unlike Dan.”
Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. And while Le Batard has publicly insisted that Stugotz’s reduced role on the Le Batard Show is a matter of growing his own talk show, Stugotz continues to rip his colleagues from afar. Earlier this summer, Stugotz blamed Le Batard and Meadowlark host David Samson for his split from the show.
After an initial announcement stating that Stugotz would maintain a similar schedule to the one he had in 2024, he has not appeared on the Le Batard Show since July 17. Meanwhile, he continues to post regular episodes of his God Bless Football and Stupodity properties. These episodes often feature similar talent and structure to the Le Batard Show.
