Mississippi State baseball fan Terry Powell (and his family) was willing to do all he possibly could to cheer on his team in the College World Series — or so he told KMTV in Omaha.
“The sacrifices that we have made to be here are incredible,” Powell told a local reporter in an interview that has gone viral Wednesday morning. “My wife’s boyfriend sold his prosthetic leg on Craigslist to afford me the opportunity to be here. But they get alone time, and I get a chance to be in Omaha.”

We’re preeeeetty confident Powell is kidding here, but you can never be totally sure. Mississippi State fans really love their Bulldogs baseball, regularly setting college attendance records at Dudy Noble Field. If anyone would strike a deal with his wife’s boyfriend to score tickets to a College World Series game, it would probably be a Mississippi State fan.
But assuming Powell (who appears to be CEO of a landscaping company) is just joking, you’ve got to commend the guy’s poker face. Our man just delivered one of the most ridiculous stories on local TV history without so much as cracking a smile. That’s some high-quality acting right there.
