Jeremy Rauch Fox 19 Cincinnati Jeremy Rauch of Fox 19 Cincinnati wears an aluminum foil outfit after making a bet.

It’s a good bet no sports anchor has ever given his report wrapped entirely in aluminum foil before. Jeremy Rauch of Fox 19 Cincinnati went there Wednesday night.

At least no one can accuse Rauch of not keeping his word.

Rauch’s foil follies began Saturday night at Wrigley Field, when the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs game appeared almost certain to be postponed due to heavy rain.

The Cincy reporter made an ill-fated guarantee on X.

Rauch got the Reynolds Wrap idea from the company’s huge sponsorship logo on the Wrigley tarp.

Yet after a 3-hour, 20-minute rain delay, they played the game. Which led to the surreal scene on Wednesday’s Fox 19 broadcast, with Rauch channeling the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz.

“So this was my view late Saturday night at Wrigley, it’s pouring down rain, no break in the forecast, and my sarcasm got the best of me,” Rauch explained. “If they play this game … I will wrap my entire body in Reynolds Wrap for my next TV hit.

“So here I am four days later, foiled by my own tweet. I am a man of my word. Somebody tag Awful Announcing.”

Message received, Jeremy. By the way, that looks like it might make a nice rain suit next time you’re in for stormy weather.
