Toronto Blue Jays ace Marcus Stroman was pumped up about throwing six scoreless innings against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday at Fenway Park, and let out a scream and looked in the direction of the Boston dugout after a strikeout to end the sixth.

In the next half inning on the Red Sox television broadcast, NESN color commentator Dennis Eckersley called Stroman’s antics “tired.”

Yes, that’s the same Dennis Eckersley who was well-known for his own theatrics on the mound during his pitching career.

Well, Stroman responded on Twitter, saying that Eckersley’s comments “are always trash.”

Stroman also referred to Eckersley as a “hypocrite” and a “clown.”

The Blue Jays and Red Sox meet up again July 2-4 in Toronto for a three-game set, and Stroman is currently lined up to start game two in the series.
