Details about the significant changes around the hit NFL Network show Good Morning Football continue to trickle out. On Monday, longtime panelist Kyle Brandt confirmed on social media that he will return to the program when it comes back from hiatus this fall.
NFL Media made significant cuts in the spring, and GMF was just one victim. The league’s media arm determined the expenses related to producing the show in New York City were no longer worth it, and moved the show to the West Coast, closer to its base of media operations in Los Angeles.
Anchor Jamie Erdahl previously confirmed she will follow GMF to L.A., but Brandt is the first panelist to publicly announce he will continue on the show.
A follower on X asked Brandt if he would be on GMF when it returned from hiatus on Sept. 2, and he replied with a simple, “Yes.”

Brandt was part of the original cast when the show launched in 2016, and gave a final goodbye to its audience in April after the most protracted, odd farewell tour on sports TV in a while.
“I want to spend the rest of my career with the NFL,” Brandt said then. “And Good Morning Football is not ending, it is expanding.”
Kyle Brandt addresses Good Morning Football’s uncertain future as the show signs off from New York City for the final time.

Good Morning Football will be syndicated on Fox affiliate television stations across the U.S. when it returns in the fall. It will also be extended by two hours as part of the syndication and expansion.
However, despite shooting on the opposite coast, GMF will continue to air at 7 a.m. ET, meaning the cast and crew will be on air at 4 a.m. local time in California.
Brandt did not elaborate on his role on the new-look GMF, though Sports Illustrated‘s Jimmy Traina wrote Monday that “Brandt will be on the air five days a week.” It is unclear whether NFL Media would allow panelists to appear remotely.
On The Press Box podcast in April, GMF panelist Peter Schrager declined to discuss his future with the show due to ongoing contract negotiations.
Longtime NFL defensive back Jason McCourty has not commented on his future on GMF yet.
