Amazon Prime and NBC will both launch their coverage of the 2025-26 NBA season once the regular season tips off on October 21st. This follows a new media rights deal that was announced in July 2024, as both companies have signed 11-year deals with the NBA.
This marks the first time that Prime will air NBA coverage on its streaming platform. There will be 66 regular-season games streamed annually, in addition to NBA Cup and playoff coverage.
Recurring Friday night broadcasts will air throughout the regular season, with Thursday night double-header action launching after the NFL season concludes. NBA on Prime’s first broadcast is set for a double-header on October 24th.
NBCUniversal’s deal will bring the NBA back to the network 23 years after its previous deal expired. Coverage will be featured on Tuesdays and Sundays following the NFL season, with its Peacock streaming service tapped for doubleheaders on Mondays.
28 playoff games will be aired on NBC and Peacock across the first two rounds, with coverage of one of the two Conference Finals every other year. NBA on NBC will go live with coverage of the Houston Rockets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder on Peacock for the first game of the 2025-26 NBA season on Tuesday, October 21st.
Each network has assembled its own talent to cover NBA games this upcoming season. NBA on Prime will feature the legendary voices of Kevin Harlan and Ian Eagle. Michael Grady and Eric Collins are also going to be on the play-by-play team for NBA on Prime’s broadcast.
NBA on Prime game analysts include a litany of stars, including Stan Van Gundy, Brent Barry, Dell Curry, Steve Nash, Dwayne Wade, and Candace Parker. Cassidy Hubbarth, Allie Clifton, and Kristina Pink are tapped as the sideline reporters.
NBC’s NBA play-by-play voices includes Mike Tirico and Noah Eagle, son of Ian Eagle, along with Terry Gannon and Michael Grady. Grady will be doing double-duty with Prime and NBC.
NBA veterans like Austin Rivers, Derek Fisher, Brad Dougherty, Robbie Hummel, and Brian Scalabrine are going to be featured as game analysts for the NBA on NBC coverage. Additional stars selected for game analyst roles include Grant Hill, Reggie Miller, Jamal Crawford, Vince Carter, and Carmelo Anthony for in-game and in-studio analysis.
Maria Taylor and Ahmad Fareed will be NBA on NBC studio hosts. Six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan will also be featured as a contributor on certain NBA on NBC segments.
