Although it only seems like yesterday that the Euro’s kicked off in Germany with Scotland taking on the hosts and unfortunately losing 5-1. However, it isn’t long until the whole tournament is over, and then all the players are back to their respective clubs and countries in order to get their pre-season training, tours, and friendlies under way. The tournament as a whole lasts a month.
The final takes place in Berlin on Sunday, July 14th. With plenty of teams still fighting away for their chance to book their place in the final, if you’re a fan of sports betting, there’s no clear-cut favorite. So far, the tournament has delivered plenty of shocks and amazing goals and hasn’t disappointed. However, before you know it, the final will have been and gone, and so sports-wise, what do we have to look forward to once this is all done?

If you’re a general fan of sports aside from just football, there is still a jam-packed calendar not only for the rest of the year but also during this summer for you to look forward to. One of the biggest global tournaments that takes place is less than a fortnight after the conclusion of the final in Berlin, and of course, that is the Olympics Games. It is the 33rd installment of these historic games, and they are being held in Berlin.
They start on July 26 and run all the way through to August 11. With the games being held in France, it means that the times that most of the events run are going to be sociable for most of Europe and also for other western nations such as those located in North and South America.
Not long to wait for golf fans.
If you’re a fan of golf, you’ll be glad to know that there’s not long to wait until one of the biggest events on the calendar comes to our screens. This is, of course, The Open, which this year is being hosted at Royal Troon, a beautiful yet challenging links course based in the scenic Scottish county of South Ayrshire. It will see all of the best players from the multiple professional tours compete against one another to see themselves as the champions of the year.
It is a remarkable eighth return to the course for the competition. As is standard for golf competitions, it will start on Thursday, July 18th, with half of the field being cut off after the first two days and us seeing the final round on Sunday, July 21st.
Soccer isn’t over.
Now that we’ve had a look at other sports that are upcoming, there is also plenty of soccer to look forward to. Over the pond in the US, there is an international tournament equivalent to the Euros going on called the Copa America, where all of the best countries from both North and South America battle it out in order to establish themselves as the number one. The final of this is being played at the Hard Rock Stadium that is located in Miami, Florida, and this is on July 14th. And then in late August, that is when you will see the return of domestic leagues such as the Premier League, and so it may look like a long time on the calendar, but you won’t be without soccer for long.
Hopefully this has given you the reassurance that after the Euros, there is still plenty on the sporting calendar to look forward to. And today we have only looked at a few of these events. Beyond these, there are many others to look forward to, such as major events in the cricket calendar as well as the Paralympics this year, so yes, there is plenty to look forward to.
