The decision by LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball to move overseas (they’re seen signing their contracts above) to Lithuanian team Vytautas Prienai has provoked plenty of comment, but the remarks from that team’s announcer on LKL TV ahead of the team’s game Tuesday night might be the best yet. He even broke into song:
https://twitter.com/LithuaniaBasket/status/940697554299375617
“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, good evening for all of our spectators from abroad. We are starting live from Lithuania, this is Lithuanian basketball league game, Vytautas Prienu – Nevėžis Kėdainiai. Mr. LaVar Ball, thanks for watching, LiAngelo, LaMelo, we’re waiting for you here. A welcoming song for you also. ‘Welcome to Lithuania. Welcome to Lithuania. Welcome to Lithuania. The land of the beautiful basketball.'”
I mean, at least this move has catchy original songs going for it. And that might even be better than the trunk meat. We’ll see what else it leads to.
