Services like cable television, YouTube TV, or Hulu + Live TV come at a high enough price point that one could reasonably expect them to work when you want them to.
Unfortunately for Hulu + Live TV customers, that wasn’t the case on Thursday night. It seems a widespread outage impacted Hulu + Live TV subscribers during a big night in live sports that included an ALCS game between the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians that went to extra innings, an NLCS game between the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers, and a college football game between Virginia Tech and Boston College.
it’s truly so funny for hulu to run ads yelling “hulu has live sports” only to crash so that we miss a walk off 10th inning homerun lol

Turns out @hulu does not, in fact, have live sports.

Hulu Live tv really crashed during the MLB playoffs the same day they raised the price to $83/mo.
They are practically begging everyone to leave for YouTube TV

It seems that the outage happened at the worst time for baseball fans, who seemed to have missed the dramatic walk-off home run that ended Game 3 of the ALCS. It also looks like fans were still dark well into the middle of the NLCS.
In response to angry customers on social media, Hulu has been replying with a boilerplate response.
Apologies! We’ve received similar reports and our team is currently investigating this issue. We’re working to get things resolved ASAP. In the meantime, try using: https://t.co/qxlmnIPbSj as a possible workaround!

You have to think that the Hulu marketing execs who approved the slogan “Hulu has live sports” are starting to regret that decision. But on the bright side, at least Yankees fans didn’t actually have to watch their team’s epic collapse.
