Following a post-round interview with Tiger Woods at the PGA Championship, ESPN’s Marty Smith needed to towel off a bit.
That’s not a surprise. It’s nearly 90 degrees today in Tulsa, with humidity.
What was a surprise: that toweling made it to air, thanks to some kind of mix-up.

The comedic zoom in followed by Smith looking at the towel and shaking his head in frustration really makes the clip. This isn’t mocking Smith for the towel, either! It’s hot as hell in Tulsa today, and Smith is out there in a suit!
In the end, that’s just what happens sometimes on live television. Hopefully everyone involved can have a good laugh about it. And let’s please get Marty a fresh towel.
