Whether you’re playing at the local club or a DP World Tour event, you always want to keep your head on a swivel on the golf course. You never know when an errant shot might be coming for your cranium.
In the second round of the Scandinavian Mixed, an event co-sanctioned by DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour, Madelene Sagstrom was attempting to get out of the rough on the par-4 18th at Vasatorps Golfklubb. She hit her third shot down the left side of the fairway and unfortunately nailed a cameraperson directly in the noggin.
While the LGPA Tour golfer did yell “FORE!” after the ball was hit, it was too little too late for the cameraman, who hit the ground after getting cracked in the head.

If there’s a saving grace, the ball rebounded back onto the fairway. So at least there’s that.
According to Andy Roberts of GolfMagic, the 31-year-old golfer was shaken by the incident and she ended up with a triple-bogey on the final hole. That led to her missing the cut by three shots.
Just spoke to both DP World Tour pro Joost Luiten and Sky Sports Golf's Tony Johnstone and they tell me the camera operator unfortunately struck in the head by Madelene Sagstrom on 18 today was taken straight to hospital but he is thankfully okay. A horrible moment. https://t.co/JkakGsLX1J

Roberts also noted that the cameraperson was taken to the hospital and that he was “okay” with a sore head.
