Kenny Mayne, Brian Baumgartner, Cooper Manning launch golf podcast We Need a Fourth Edit by Liam McGuire

Pack it up, folks. We’ve officially launched the last podcast.

A Manning brother, a former SportsCenter anchor, and an actor from The Office walk into a podcast studio together. What do they talk about? Golf, of course!

That’s right. Cooper Manning, Kenny Mayne, and Brian Baumgartner (perhaps better known as Kevin from The Office) are launching a golf podcast. No, we did not ask ChatGPT to generate the 10 Weirdest Podcast Ideas known to man. In fact, this venture has some serious backing.

The new podcast, called We Need a Fourth, will air weekly at 9 p.m. ET on Mondays on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio and will re-air throughout the week. It is being produced by SmartLess Media, the production company founded by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett.

“As far as I know, this is probably one of the first golf podcasts ever, so Brian, Cooper, and I see ourselves as pioneers,” Kenny Mayne said in a statement, per The Hollywood Reporter. “Our guest list, on paper, is like a dream team of people we’d want to play with. Of course, it’s closer to a list of people who wouldn’t invite us to play because I refuse to tuck in my shirt. Yes, we will discuss dumb golf things. And great golf things. Because we hate and love golf so much…”

At least they’re self-aware!

As Mayne alluded to, the show will have a pretty stacked guest list. Arnett and Bateman will join the show, as will Eli Manning, Sebastian Maniscalco, Andrew Santino, Michelle Wie West, Eric Stonestreet, Heather McMahan, Austin Hurt, Jay Larson, Jared Freid, Austin Reaves, Fat Perez (of Bob Does Sports), Max Homa, and more.

Has anyone ever wondered what Cooper Manning, Kenny Mayne, and Brian Baumgartner thought about the sport of golf? Probably not. However, the golf media has transformed in mysterious ways recently. Some of the most popular golf influencers are people who are decidedly bad at the sport. It’s relatable and entertaining.

That’s clearly the lane We Need a Fourth is going for. And who knows? If the trio of co-hosts has decent chemistry, it could work! Even if the cast list seems like a randomly generated assortment of celebrities right now.
