CBS spent the weekend paying tribute to longtime analyst Ian Baker-Finch, who called his last telecast for the network after announcing his retirement at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro.
The tournament was won by Cameron Young, who won his first PGA Tour event becoming the 1,000th winner in tour history. It was also the first career victory for Young, one of the bright young stars in the game who finally broke through the glass ceiling. Unfortunately for Ian Baker-Finch, the result wasn’t in much doubt as Young ran away with a six shot victory.
However, in the midst of a weekend of tributes from the entire CBS golf family, he got one last special honor from Jim Nantz.
Nantz of course is known for his trademark signature calls at the end of golf tournaments. However, with Young standing on the 18th green ready to put the final touches on his win, Nantz performed a remarkable gesture.
Ian Baker-Finch usually calls the action on the 17th hole, which is where he has been stationed for years at CBS. But to close out the Wyndham Championship, Nantz stepped aside and let the former British Open winner call the final putt from Cameron Young. Baker-Finch was clearly a bit emotional preparing for the final call. And he nailed it.

“I can’t wait to see the reaction, but even more than that, I can’t wait to hear Ian Baker-Finch call it. Would you please, one last time for us all,” Nantz said.
Young just missed yet another birdie putt for the perfect ending, but it certainly didn’t matter for the overall result.
“In record fashion, Cameron Young wins the Wyndham Championship of 2025. His first victory on the PGA Tour after seven second-place finishes. An old head on young shoulders indeed. What a win,” Baker-Finch said.
It was a great moment for Cameron Young and a great moment for the CBS golf crew. Nantz nailed the goodbye for Verne Lundquist at last year’s Masters and he did the same here for Ian Baker-Finch by giving him the final call of his career.
