Charles Barkley tends to have a way with words, no matter what topic he is talking about.
And during an appearance on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio’s Gravy & The Sleeze hosted by CBS Sports on-course analyst Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz, Barkley did not hold back when talking about the divide in men’s professional golf.

“I wish these fools would quit screwing around, LIV and the PGA Tour. I don’t know what the hell they’re doing. They’re so stupid. These guys are so idiotic. They need to be playing against each other [more than] the majors. It would be beneficial for both tours,” Barkley contended.
Sir Charles may be right. Viewership for both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf were down last season, sometimes to concerning levels. The divide has diminished the strength of field in nearly all men’s professional golf events, aside from the majors.
Now, the sport is resorting to one-off events like TNT’s upcoming The Showdown, which will feature two of the best players from each of the warring tours; Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy for the PGA Tour and Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka for LIV Golf.
Barkley’s ability to cut through B.S. is refreshing, and one of the reasons he is beloved by many. And all golf fans can agree, the lack of tournaments with all of the best players in the world competing is B.S.
It’s good to hear the Chuckster agrees.
