Not to be outdone by College Football 25, the new version of Madden has released some new details about its upcoming game, which Christian McCaffrey will don the cover of.
Following in CFB 25’s footsteps, Madden NFL 25 will feature three commentary teams. For the first time in eight years, there will be additional broadcast teams in addition to Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis. Perhaps foreshadowing Greg Olsen’s future, the former NFL tight end, currently an analyst on the NFL on Fox’s No. 2 team, will pair up with NBC’s Mike Tirico.

The other analyst team will comprise Philadelphia 76ers play-by-play announcer Kate Scott and former NFL quarterback Brock Huard, who has been a Fox Sports college football analyst since 2008. While Scott primarily lends her voice to the NBA, her most recent football venture before being on Madden’s trio of announcing team was as the play-by-play voice for Learfield’s College Football Saturday Night alongside Mike Golic.
In all, Madden NFL 25’s commentary boasts three announcer teams with a diverse mix that includes an MLB play-by-play announcer who also calls college games, NFL analysts, a college football analyst, and voices from both Sunday Night Football and the NBA.
Additionally, as part of its presentation overview, Madden revealed that the new broadcast teams and commentary will add to “the most immersive audio experience in years,” as they’ve sourced audio from Monday Night Football games and NFL Films.
Here’s more on that:
New broadcast teams and commentary add to the most immersive audio experience in years. We’ve added crowd audio sourced from the 2023 NFL season’s Monday Night Football games and NFL films, so it doesn’t just feel like realistic crowd noise–it is real crowd noise. On-field sound effects have been increased and refreshed (pad collisions, grunts, exertions, etc.) to now include over 500 samples.
Yes, McCaffrey may be gracing the cover, but the real stars of Madden NFL 25 might just be the diverse commentary teams. And that’ll be especially true if the inclusion of Olsen alongside Tirico points to a future at NBC and life beyond Cris Collinsworth. At the same time, he’s shown no signs of slowing down, so perhaps we shouldn’t connect those dots just yet.
