At the time of writing this article baseball has only been back in earnest for a little less than a week. There is no clearer sign that spring is arriving in all it’s glory than the crack of bats and the sound of take me out to the ballgame. As per the last couple of years, FOX holds the broadcasting rights, and for those interested in watching the season, Fox is the channel to tune in to.

But what is there to look forward to in the coming season?  Will some team be able to make an impression early on, or will some underdog manage to clinch the pennant? In this article we’re going to be sharing some of the most exciting things baseball fans have to look forward to in the coming months of baseball. For those interested in sports betting, now can also be the perfect time to start looking at different odds for the upcoming season, or maybe even place a long term bet.

How will the new pace of play rules impact the sport?

The measures taken to improve the pace of play in the MLB has been celebrated by some and lauded by some. It led to some unfortunate moments during spring training, but it’s difficult to really give a verdict about the new changes until we’ve seen them in action for real during the course of a season. The players need to adjust to this and we are more than likely to see some at bats get decided by the clock.

Will the Angels be able to utilize Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout to their utmost potential?

It’s somewhat crazy to take a couple of steps back and ponder the fact that the Angels have two of the most unique players in baseball history available on their roster. Calling Mike Trout a generational talent is to sell him short, as he is one of the best players of all time, with plenty of years left in his career.

But the one thing he doesn’t have is a ring on his finger. This is not for lack of trying, but one can only go so far without the proper backing of a good roster. This is also where Shohei Ohtani comes into the picture, and with these two unique players in the same roster, one can expect great things to come out of Anaheim. Their at-bat against eachother in the WBC quickly became an instant classic, and hopefully they’ll be able to perform well in the regular season.

The Mets and their spending spree.

The Mets have for a very long time been somewhat of a laughing stock of the MLB. The reasons for this are multi faceted and can’t be explained in a couple of paragraphs. But with the owner Steve Cohen starting to really move up the gears in terms of what he is willing to spend on the team, many experts are expecting the mets to be able to pull out some strong performances this year. It’s more than time for the little brother of the big apple to start performing like a franchise of their statue should, but this is more than likely going to be easier said than done.
