Now in year two of his tenure with Fox, Tom Brady is already sounding more comfortable as an analyst and media personality.
Heading into Week 2 of the NFL season, Brady made his first appearance on Colin Cowherd’s Fox Sports Radio show on FS1 Thursday afternoon, and he treated The Herd like he was over at ESPN on The Pat McAfee Show. Brady gave Cowherd and Fox Sports two sh*ts in one segment.

“And now you go as a first-year quarterback, you barely know sh*t and now everyone’s telling you you suck and it takes a while to regain your confidence,” Brady said before recalling what scouts were saying about him as a rookie. “Tom Brady too weak, couldn’t stand in the pocket…lacks a really strong arm, that was kinda bullsh*t.”
It’s just sh*t and bullsh*t. It’s not like Brady was dropping F-bombs left and right. But two sh*ts in one segment is a lot for The Herd. Several listeners said they heard a third sh*t, but I only caught the two. And two is still probably more sh*t than even Cowherd has ever spewed in one episode of his FS1 show.
Some will call the profanity a blunder, but this is where Brady has been at his best since officially embarking on his media career a year ago. Brady has been excellent as an analyst in more relaxed forums, while sounding tight at times as a game analyst alongside Kevin Burkhardt. He might call that assessment “sh*t,” just like he did about those who questioned his arm strength, but it’s a fair one.
With Cowherd, Brady’s voice sounds smooth. He’s candid, honest, insightful and an easy listen. In the booth, there are times where Brady has seemed hesitant and less confident in his ability to get his point across quickly. Already, Brady has improved from his debut as an analyst to his sophomore season this year. In Week 1, he showed more personality and was able to make his points faster than last season. But every time Brady goes on The Herd, it’s a reminder of how great he can be.
