Terry Bradshaw Credit: Fox NFL Kickoff

Winning three Super Bowls in a row is no small feat. In fact, it’s never been done before.

So as good as the Kansas City Chiefs are, it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility that they’ll fall short in the upcoming playoffs despite their dominant regular season.

While they are one of the presumptive favorites to play in Super Bowl LIX, which would be their fifth appearance in six seasons, there are plenty of decent reasons to think Kansas City might stumble en route to their fifth Super Bowl victory as a franchise.

Fox’s Terry Bradshaw seems to have discovered one reason that hadn’t occurred to many other people.

During Fox NFL Kickoff, Charissa Thompson asked the former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback if Kansas City was his favorite heading into the playoffs. He said the Chiefs weren’t going to be able to win three games in a row, which elicited a chorus of “oooohs” from Julian Edelman, Peter Schrager, Michael Vick, and Charles Woodson.

“Why am I upsetting everyone?” asked Bradshaw, before explaining his reasoning.

“You see how quick they get rid of the ball now?” he added. “See that quick, quick, quick, quick, quick? I just think they’re gonna load up against a team like Buffalo. They’re gonna load up against a team like Baltimore. And those are the two teams that can beat them, and I think that’s gonna happen. I think one of them is gonna [take them out], even though it would be in Kansas City.”

It’s a little unclear how Kansas City’s offensive strategy, which has propelled them to a 15-1 record so far, is going to be their downfall. That said, Baltimore did give the Chiefs a run for their money earlier in the year and that lone loss came courtesy of the Bills, so there is probably some truth to the idea that either of those teams is capable of upsetting Patrick Mahomes’ squad in the playoffs.

Bradshaw might eventually be proven right just due to statistical probability, but his specific reasoning remains dubious.
