The NFL’s early afternoon slate in Week 2 featured incredibly sloppy football, and the NFL on Fox game broadcasts followed suit.
Multiple viewers took to X to report rogue audio feeds, with audio from the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings game invading the broadcasts of the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets game as well as the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers game.
It got so bad that Packers reporter Jason Wilde thought he might be hallucinating.
“Am I the only one watching Packers-Jets who’s getting the Vikings-Bears audio from NFL on Fox?” Wilde wrote on X.
Wilde was far from alone, however:
This may be the biggest screwup I’ve witnessed in recent sports broadcasting – Fox has somehow messed up its coverage so badly that audio from a completely different game is playing over the Falcons/Panthers snoozefest #Fox #Falcons #Panthers #Bears #Vikings #NFL

Listening to the Bears-Vikings audio while watching Packers-Jets just makes this worse @NFLonFOX

Hey @NFLonFOX figure out this audio issue. I don’t need nor want the Vikings/Bears audio pumped into the Packers/Jets broadcast.
This is brutal for the viewer.

Shoutout to FOX for messing up the audio of the Jets-Packers game multiple times this afternoon.

Fox keeps putting the Bears Vikings audio during the Packers Jets broadcast pic.twitter.com/tzp7sOGt5k

Fox gotta figure out the audio here because I feel like I’m having a stroke

A billion dollar company is getting the Packers/Jets audio mixed up with the Bears/Vikings. I have legit never seen this in my life. Fire everyone at FOX too.
— Ryan (@BrewPack8) September 20, 2026
The Fox audio engineer better fire up that LinkedIn Monday.
Twice in the past 5 minutes thatthe Jets game has had the Vikings and Bears audio playing for a while.
— Mike Bartner (@MikeBartner) September 20, 2026
Now FOX has the wrong game audio for the #Falcons game. The broadcast is literally playing another game. Metaphor for this Atlanta game at the moment.

Elsewhere, Fox’s audio from the Jets and Packers game broke contain and entered the broadcast of the Falcons and Panthers game.
“How long do you think it will take them to notice we’re getting Jets vs Packers game audio on the Falcons-Panthers game?” Matt Stewart wrote on X.
The Panthers are blowing out the Falcons, so Fox has decided to give us the Panthers-Falcons video with the Jets-Packers audio.
It’s trippy!
Somebody flipped the wrong switch somewhere. pic.twitter.com/wukzGiel5Z

So now Fox has the wrong game audio on for the Panthers game.
We’re listening to the Jets, but watching the Falcons.

The cherry on top happened in overtime of the Packers’ win over the Jets, when Fox’s scorebug mysteriously disappeared from the screen.
Luckily, Fox seems to have fixed the all-time blunder just in time for Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady to call “America’s Game of the Week” between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders.
