While it’s better than what we saw in February’s Super Bowl, it’s still not good. That was the general feeling that football fans had of Fox’s new NFL scorebug, which was unveiled during Sunday night’s game between the Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears.
There were three notable changes from the scorebug Fox used for Super Bowl LIX. First, instead of team abbreviations (which, in Sunday’s case, would be BUF and CHI), the team logos were used. Second, instead of putting the team’s time-outs remaining under the logo, those went under the team’s score. Finally, while the team’s colors were used in the background of their logos during Super Bowl LIX, there was no such background on the new one.

The good news for Fox is that the new scorebug was generally seen as an improvement. The bad news? Super Bowl LIX’s scorebug was wildly unpopular.
So, while the new scorebug was generally seen as an improvement, it wasn’t necessarily seen as good.
FOX scorebug is also throwing up a random box score stat in the corner as well.
Thought this last season too… what there is of the graphic looks fine, but it also looks like its missing an entire graphic layer somebody accidentally unticked. pic.twitter.com/n6GXUdhotE

Slight improvment with team logos but still not great

Seems a little weird. But maybe we get used to it?
I can confidently say it won’t be in the running for my favorite Fox NFL scorebug, though. https://t.co/8xRNQMNyHL

The FOX scorebug tweak is a major improvement from the Super Bowl! Still don’t love it, but it is much better. pic.twitter.com/mW1DxU1q65

Please change the scorebug @NFLonFOX

Logos replacing the team initials for this scorebug is an improvement, but it still lacks enough style and design compared to its last couple predecessors.
