Following Game 5 of the National League Division Series, we’re guessing that Fox wishes it had a better censor in place during a postgame interview with Kiké Hernández.
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres 2-0 in Game 5. One of the game’s heroes was Kiké Hernández, whose second-inning home run stood up as the game-winner. As such, Fox’s Ken Rosenthal interviewed Hernández moments after the game ended.
“You mentioned that you’ve been part of eight different postseasons here. What is different about this particular team?” Rosenthal asked.
Hernández paused and looked around before asking Rosenthal, “Are we live?” When Rosenthal confirmed that they were indeed live, Hernández answered.
“The fact that we don’t give a f***,” he said.

And with that, the interview came to an end.
Curse words make their way onto the air in live postgame interviews. It happens. This one, though, was a little different. Usually, the product of an athlete getting excited, forgetting – even for a brief moment – that an interview is taking place. Hernández, though, not only had a slow, thought-out response but even asked Rosenthal if the interview was live. It’s a little harder to call it a slip of the tongue.
