On Tuesday, we learned that the recent hamstring injury suffered by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott may result in him headed to the injured reserve list. But as far as FS1 analyst James Jones sees it, this decision is more of a reflection of Prescott’s current mindset than his actual health.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones detailed in his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday morning that Prescott is “likely” to be placed on injured reserve.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told @1053thefan said that QB Dak Prescott is likely to be placed on injured reserve due to his hamstring injury, which would sideline him a minimum of four games.

The optics around this Cowboys team have been quite bleak in recent weeks after three straight losses, with many media pundits critiquing the front-office decisions made before the season. And now, some like ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky are even suggesting that the team should be a seller at the trade deadline.
Perhaps even more worry for Cowboys fans was the visual of Prescott seemingly being caught on camera cursing the team’s performance in their 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Prescott was without a doubt dejected on the sidelines. But could this potentially have been a sign of Prescott quitting on this Cowboys team?
Well, James Jones, who is an analyst on the FS1 show The Facility, seems to think so. On Tuesday, Jones questioned the severity of Prescott’s hamstring injury, saying he believes that should only be a one- or two-week recovery time for a quarterback.
“Dak is quitting,” said Jones. “And it’s crazy because it ain’t even funny though. My man is quitting on these dudes. I’ve had a hamstring (injury) plenty of times. And I’m back the next week.
“I’m not Tyreek Hill. It don’t take no four weeks for you to heal from no hamstring. You’re no Lamar Jackson, you’re not Jalen Hurts. You’re not running, where are you running to? Four weeks? Basically put me on ice for four weeks. No fight, no nothing.
“This is a hamstring for a quarterback who is not explosive at the quarterback spot. If they tried to hold me out, I would say ‘Who am I running away from?’ I’ve been 4.5-4.6, I’m gonna stay 4.5-4.6 with a bad hammy. So I’m going out here and playing. Dak Prescott, with the way the season is going right now… We heard him on the sideline with what he said. Dak is quitting on these boys.
“Is it off the bone or something? Because there is no way you’re telling me you’re out four weeks with no answers, no fight, no nothing for a hamstring. And you’re a quarterback. There ain’t no way.
“Drop back and get the ball out. Your hamstring don’t have to be 100 percent at the quarterback spot. Dak Prescott is quitting on these boys. We know, we’ve been in the facility when dudes are hurt and really can’t go. And we know when dudes are messing around.”

Jones does raise some good points about mobility not exactly being a large part of Prescott’s game as a quarterback compared to some other players around the league.
However, if you are the Cowboys, you don’t want to risk Prescott’s long-term health to go out there and try and save a season that may already be lost.
Regardless, Jones clearly feels like Prescott isn’t doing enough to try and force his way onto the field as soon as possible. And that may make a seemingly divided locker room even more split.
