FS1’s brand-new morning show, The Facility, is still trying carve out an identity. So far, that identity seems to be that it is not, and is not trying to be, ESPN’s First Take.

Co-host Emmanuel Acho recently said the show is a “beautiful alternative” to First Take. Perhaps it’s also offering a funnier alternative to First Take.

Acho and the rest of the crew flashed some humor Tuesday morning. The show discussed the Buffalo Bills’ 47-10 thrashing of the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football. Bills QB Josh Allen put up gaudy stats, including four touchdown passes, while his counterpart, Trevor Lawrence, could not get the Jags going.

Acho dropped the perfect analogy to compare the two quarterbacks, borrowing a famous line from comedian and actor Katt Williams.

As he talked, a Chrysler 300 appeared on the screen.

“It’s fine, it’s fine, but back in the day, when i first got to Philly, I would look at them … and say, ‘Is that a Rolls (Royce)? Is that a Rolls?'” Acho said. “But the problem is, when a Rolls really pulls up, it’s very easy to identify the difference.”

A Rolls-Royce appeared on the screen beside the Chrysler.

“Yesterday, a Rolls in Josh Allen pulled up, and when that Rolls-Royce pulled up in Josh Allen, next to that Chrysler 300 in Trevor Lawrence, it was really easy to identify which was a Chrysler, and which was a Rolls,” Acho continued.

“Cause people tried to tell the world that Trevor was a Rolls-Royce. The problem is, he ain’t got the Rolls-Royce rims, he ain’t got the Rolls-Royce tires … he ain’t got the Rolls-Royce interior, and he ain’t got the Rolls-Royce interior.”

Acho’s colleagues, LeSean McCoy, James Jones and Chase Daniel, all got a big laugh out of his analogy.

“How do you come up with this stuff?” Daniel asked incredulously.

Dan Le Batard recently accused Acho of being “calculated for attention” in his attempt to create viral material. If that’s true, he’s not the only one playing that game these days in a bid to cut through the media and social media clutter.

But aren’t shows like this supposed to be entertaining? And when entertaining moments happen, they often go viral. The Facility has shown a penchant for having a serious side, too. Jones perfectly illustrated that point a couple of weeks ago. While talking about quarterback Derek Carr, an earthquake shook the show’s LA studio, and James continued talking during the earthquake, trying to finish his analysis.

You can’t fake that kind of viral moment. It just happens.

So no, The Facility is not trying to be First Take. It’s not trying to be its predecessor, Undisputed. But Acho’s Rolls-Royce/Chrysler moment is one more piece to the puzzle of the identity the show is trying to put together.
