Earthquake shakes FS1's The Facility Photo credit: FS1

An earthquake shook FS1’s studios in Los Angeles Thursday morning, but the network’s new morning show The Facility refused to get rattled.

If they’re not going to be rattled by having to compete against Stephen A. Smith and First Take every morning, surely a little shake from an earthquake isn’t going to faze hosts LeSean McCoy, Emmanuel Acho, Chase Daniel, and James Jones either.

The cameras started shaking as Jones was attempting to make a point about Baker Mayfield and Derek Carr. Jones, however, seemed hilariously intent on ignoring the trembling studio to continue his quarterback take, only stopping after urged by McCoy to “hold up James, there’s an earthquake!”

“It is rocking,” Jones acknowledged. “We good. TV’s shaking and all that…but Derek Carr had the same situations that Baker Mayfield had.”

It was the second notable earthquake to interrupt a sports TV show in recent weeks. Exactly one month ago, an earthquake shook ESPN’s Los Angeles studios while NBA Today was live and Malika Andrews handled it with incredible poise. While Andrews made sure everyone was ok before quickly getting the show back on track, Jones just never derailed from breaking down NFL quarterbacks on live TV. Not even for an earthquake.

“Hold on,” Acho said. “I don’t know if you all got on your phones, the emergency alert, ‘Earthquake detected. Drop, cover, hold on, protect yourself.” Interestingly, the alert forgot to mention “Continue your point about Baker Mayfield and Derek Carr.”

Last month, the co-hosts of FS1’s The Facility went to an escape room as a way of building their chemistry ahead of the new late morning show’s launch. But being stuck in a room together for their first earthquake might be an even better camaraderie builder.
