Complaints around Fox’s Big Noon have been reaching a fever pitch in recent weeks and not just among Ohio State fans.
Despite putting up huge ratings numbers, college football fans continue to balk at the notion of noon EST kickoffs for their favorite teams with some going as far as to launch protests of Big Noon Kickoff. Buckeyes faithful have been especially upset as they’ve had to get up early to watch their highly ranked squad every Saturday for over a month now (and will do so again next weekend).
Discussions about limiting that kind of kickoff time locality are likely to happen this offseason but change will be slow, especially when Fox has made it clear they’re fine with all the complaining.
However, you can add a new complaint to the pile following this Saturday’s Big Ten showdown between the Buckeyes and Indiana Hoosiers. Not only did it turn into an early blowout, but the game itself became something that occurred in-between commercials.
At least that’s how it felt for a lot of fans watching the game.

Another commercial! Someone should send this game tape to the judge deciding if there’s going to be revenue sharing. Players deserve millions. https://t.co/dCXMjUdy0P

Really love that timeout-commercial break-one play-end of quarter commercial break sequence. Reminds me why I love college football.

If you love commercial breaks Big Noon Kickoff is for you.

I’ve seen so many people complain about Big Noon Kickoff games…but my only complaint is that they never run enough commercials.
It’s just way too much football for me. Give me more commercials. FOX is doing this right!!

Fox might be racking up the ratings with Big Noon, but they’re burning a heck of a lot of goodwill with college football audiences. Maybe that eventually matters, maybe not. But it’s not a good look.
