Bill Burr wants Colin Cowherd to admit he was wrong about Baker Mayfield.

He’s probably not going to get that satisfaction. Sure, Cowherd has supposedly come around on Mayfield, but that doesn’t mean he wants him leading his football team. It also doesn’t mean he didn’t try to hire the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback for his media company.

This is the same Cowherd who once ripped Mayfield for being a bad teammate, wearing a backward hat and believing in aliens. Although Mayfield does have at least one trait that Cowherd believes every great quarterback needs: a wife. But even though Cowherd once deemed Mayfield “undraftable,” he clearly doesn’t think the quarterback is unhireable.

That change of tune hasn’t won over Burr — at least not yet.

The Massachusetts native was on Julian Edelman’s Games With Names podcast when he shared that one of the jokes he’s been making in his act is, “The last three presidential elections, we’re picking presidents the way the Browns pick quarterbacks. We’re in this vortex; we got to get out of it.”

That prompted Edelman to ask the famed comedian who the Baker Mayfield of U.S. Presidents would be.

Well, his middle name is Reagan…

“I love f*cking Baker Mayfield,” Burr said. “And you know what? I love that Colin Cowherd has to stay up at night, knowing he was wrong — and can’t get himself to admit it. And his desk is going to just keep getting bigger. I still have to go to a physical therapist looking up at doing those interviews I did on his show.”

It’s all in good fun.

Burr has long mocked Cowherd’s bizarre grudge against Mayfield, even roasting the FS1 host for seven straight minutes on The Herd.

That said, Burr isn’t expecting Cowherd to issue a full mea culpa anytime soon. He’s built a career on his stubborn takes, and walking them back isn’t exactly his style — even when the receipts are sometimes undeniable.

And perhaps his desk will only keep getting bigger as if it’s trying to create more distance between him and the takes he refuses to admit were wrong.
