Fox reveals extensive women’s college volleyball broadcast schedule

Fox is leaning into its coverage of women’s college volleyball.

On Monday, the network revealed that a record-setting six women’s college volleyball matches will air on the Fox broadcast network this upcoming season.

Fox will kick off the volleyball season on Friday, August 22, with a doubleheader at the AVCA First Serve event. Pitt will take on Nebraska at 7 p.m. ET, and Florida plays Stanford at 9 p.m. ET.

Then, the next four games on Fox’s broadcast network will all feature the Penn State Nittany Lions, back-to-back games on August 31 and September 1, another game on September 5, and a final game against Nebraska on October 3.

Fox has been very open about its strategy to highlight women’s college volleyball. Earlier this year, the Fox-owned Big Ten Network aired spring volleyball matches for the first time. Last season, Fox properties aired 86 women’s college volleyball matches.

The investment is for good reason. Last year’s NCAA Volleyball Championship secured a record audience of 1.3 million viewers on ABC. The tournament as a whole finished 41% higher than the previous year.

Volleyball continues to prove itself as a growth sport in terms of television viewership, and Fox appears intent on elevating the sport through increased broadcast exposure.
