Dean Martin sang the classic hit, “Everybody Loves Somebody.” For Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams, that somebody is Taco Bell.
The NFL star’s love of Taco Bell is the stuff of legend. He’s starred in commercials for the fast-food chain, which was built around having a restaurant in his own house. He also has his own setup at SoFi Stadium with a Taco Bell.
But nothing is as impressive as what he showed Kay Adams on FanDuel’s Up & Adams — the legendary purple card.
Kay interviewed Davante with a Taco Bell counter perfectly placed right behind his living room couch. She asked him which teammate he would invite into his own personal restaurant, and he shouted out a new teammate, cornerback Trent McDuffie.
She then inquired about the purple card, and he pulled out the mythical object for the world to see.
“I think he’s the best corner in the league.”

“It’s got my name, so if anybody tries to rob me, you’ll never be able to use it. It’s like a credit card. Basically like a black card, but it can only be used at Taco Bell. But it is unlimited. And I can get in there and go buy $7 million dollars worth of Taco Bell today if I wanted to have a Taco Bell party,” Adams said.
“The black card and all that stuff is cool. A lot of people have that. Only two people have the purple card right now.”
As for the other person who has the famed purple card, that would be comedian Kevin Hart. He called the purple card his “biggest flex,” and it’s hard to argue with that if you’re one of only two people in the world who have it.
Davante Adams’ devotion and love for Taco Bell is truly inspiring. Thankfully for him and Kevin Hart, they hopefully don’t have to worry about that Cyclospora outbreak anymore and can enjoy their chalupas and gorditas in peace.
