Four years after first leaving ESPN, Treavor Scales is returning to the Worldwide Leader.
As first reported by Front Office Sports’ Ryan Glasspiegel, the Atlanta native is rejoining ESPN as a Bristol-based SportsCenter anchor. Scales previously hosted SportsCenter on Snapchat for the network before departing the company in 2021.
After leaving ESPN, the former Harvard running back hosted Braves and Hawks coverage for the Atlanta-based Bally’s/FanDuel Sports Network RSN and served as a sideline reporter for the The CW’s coverage of ACC football and The Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl. His first assignment in returning to ESPN will be hosting the 6 p.m. ET SportsCenter on May 23.

Scales’ return to ESPN comes amid a time of transition for both SportsCenter and the network’s weekday programming schedule, with Around the Horn set to depart its 5 p.m. ET timeslot as the show prepares to host its final episode. On Monday, SportsCenter will host its final episode based out of ESPN’s Los Angeles studio, while CNBC’s Alex Sherman recently reported that the network is considering replacing the 2 p.m. ET SportsCenter as a part of a broader afternoon revamp.
But regardless of what time it starts or where it’s hosted from, SportsCenter still remains a core piece of ESPN’s programming plans. And that now includes the re-addition of Scales, who it appears will play a key role in the network’s most famous show moving forward
