After multiple decades first paired with Mike Golic and then as a solo act, Mike Greenberg on ESPN Radio is no longer. #Greeny, which airs from 10 a.m. to noon ET, will be no more, as Around the Horn and Andscape veteran Clinton Yates will take over that time slot.
Greenberg, who hosts multiple ESPN properties across the network’s various platforms, will actually see his workload reduced for the first time in a long time.
The news was first reported by Mike McCarthy of Front Office Sports,
NEWS: Clinton Yates is landing his own ESPN Radio Show.
His new ‘Clinton & Friends’ will replace Mike Greenberg’s ‘Greeny’ in the 10 am-12 Noon time slot.

Yates, whose new show will be titled Clinton & Friends, has previously worked on ESPN LA 710. So commanding a radio slot won’t be anything new for Yates, who will co-host his show with a regular rotating group of guests, per FOS.
These changes will come after the Super Bowl.
You might say that he has big shoes to fill in Greenberg, but the ESPN veteran did just about everything at the network except host his own radio show. Greeny had been a fixture on the ESPN Radio lineup since 2020 after the messy breakup of the successful Mike & Mike morning show hosted by Greenberg and Mike Golic.
However, Greenberg’s long absences became something of a running gag as Pat McAfee teased him for going on insanely long vacations. During the summer of 2022, Greenberg hosted only seven out of 61 #Greeny shows, according to ESPN radio archives. From January to August 2022, Greenberg appeared on the program just 35% of the time.
When McAfee poked fun at his vacation schedule again in 2023, Greenberg fired back, defending his on-air time. But from June 1 to August 31, 2023, Greenberg hosted Greeny just five times out of a possible 66 shows, or about 7.5% of the time. Chris Carlin and Chris Canty filled in for Greenberg, hosting 43 and 40 shows, respectively, over that summer. In spite of his frequent absences, Greenberg continued in his slot on ESPN’s national lineup even amid changes in the fall of 2023.
Of course, Greenberg will continue to be a force at the Worldwide Leader, just not on ESPN Radio. As mentioned above, his absence won’t be anything new, just a bit more permanent this time. According to McCarthy, he will maintain a presence in in the audio world, hosting the First Draft podcast with Field Yates and Mel Kiper Jr.
As for Yates, he’ll get to craft his legacy on the radio in a prime timeslot and ESPN Radio listeners will actually have a more reliable presence on the airwaves.
