You may have heard over the weekend that Todd Gurley did a very, very bad and selfish thing. In the interest of actually winning a football game against the Green Bay Packers, Gurley took a knee in the final minutes to allow the Los Angeles Rams to run out the clock instead of scoring another touchdown. Gurley’s fantasy owners (and anyone who took the Rams to cover the spread) were cursing Gurley’s smart team-first decision.
Of course, it was all a bit silly. Gurley did the right thing, even if it made people apoplectic around the country who had something riding on the outcome of the play. And if anything, it’s a little ungrateful from fantasy football players with Gurley in their teams especially given he is an MVP frontrunner who is one of the top fantasy performers this season in the NFL.
Leave it to ESPN fantasy guru Matthew Berry to put it all in its proper perspective. It could be worse Todd Gurley Fantasy Owners, you could have Le’Veon Bell stashed away on your bench. Berry went on this hilarious rant addressed to everyone who has Gurley on their team and is likely still leading their fantasy leagues at the moment.
And now, a message to those with Todd Gurley on their roster from #TheFantasyShow on ESPN+ pic.twitter.com/1tP7PlsqL1

Gurley is the only running back in the NFL averaging 100 yards or more per game and also leads the league with 11 rushing touchdowns. Another 31 receptions and 4 receiving TDs mean that he’s a fantasy monster. If there’s anyone who should be angry, it’s people who drafted Le’Veon Bell in the first round and let someone else nab James Connor on the waiver wire.
Let’s face it. If you’re in that spot you only have yourself to blame.
