A pair of national champions will be on hand as guest pickers for College GameDay on Saturday as ESPN’s popular pregame show is in Baton Rouge for the game between No. 11 Alabama and No. 15 LSU.
Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, who helped lead the Tigers baseball team to a national championship as the Most Outstanding Player of the 2023 College World Series, will be one of the guest pickers. Joining Skenes will be gymnast Livvy Dunne, who was part of LSU’s national championship-winning women’s gymnastics team in 2024. Skenes and Dunne are also a couple.
College GameDay was proud to boast the credentials of both Skenes and Dunne in its announcement.
“What’s better than one national champion? How about two national champions?” the show’s X (formerly Twitter) account said.

Saturday’s game essentially serves as a de facto College Football Playoff eliminator. It’s hard to imagine the losing team reaching the SEC Championship Game. And, as both Alabama and LSU enter the game with two losses, it’s tough to see either reaching the CFP as an at-large team, especially since Saturday’s game is both team’s last on the schedule against a presently ranked opponent. The Tide defeated the Tigers 42-28 in last year’s year’s meeting while LSU defeated Alabama 32-31 in overtime in 2022, the last time the two played at Tiger Stadium.
And we’re guessing Skenes and Dunne will be forecasting a Tiger victory in 2024.
