When an analyst makes a prediction about what a player might do in an upcoming game, does the analyst really believe in that pick? Not necessarily — especially if it’s Jason Kelce.
Shortly before Monday night’s playoff game between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams got underway, the Monday Night Countdown crew made their choices on the ESPN Bet prop bets.
“Jason, you’re up first,” host Scott Van Pelt said. “Touchdown passes for Matthew Stafford: What’s the number?”
“I’ve got 2+ because they told me to,” an unenthusiastic Kelce replied.

After some laughter on set, Kelce explained, “I don’t like picking touchdowns” before offering a slightly deeper explanation.
“But listen, Matthew’s my guy,” he said. “I think he’s gonna get 2+ touchdowns. They got a week of rest, I think he’s going to come out firing on all cylinders. I got him 2+ touchdowns on the Monday playbook.”
Ryan Clark then offered his pick.
“I’m going Kyren Williams, 80+ rushing yards,” Clark said. “Not because anybody told me to. But because I believe it.”
