Reigning UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will host five episodes of the ESPN+ series Detail, with the first episode streaming on July 1.

Detail is produced by Kobe Bryant’s Granity Studios, and debuted with Bryant hosting a basketball edition of the series in April 2018. That was followed by Peyton Manning getting eight episodes of a football-themed Detail series. And now, Cormier gets to host the first UFC-themed version of the series, which will feature in-depth film breakdown.

According to the ESPN press release, Cormier “will write and provide expert analysis for each episode, sharing his insights and examining the unique styles and techniques that make each fighter a champion.”

The first episode will feature Cormier providing detailed analysis of reigning UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight champion Amanda Nunes. That’s followed by episodes focusing on former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor, UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, and UFC interim middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

The ESPN press release adds that Cormier “will look at each fighter in detail, breaking down strengths and weaknesses, while taking fans through each athlete’s evolution as a fighter, utilizing footage from multiple bouts throughout their careers to date.”

Bryant and Cormier announced the news on social media:

I am happy to announce that I am now doing Detail, this puts me in some elite company. Kobe Bryant and Peyton Manning are the only other two athletes with a detail series. Fight analysis and breaking down some of the greatest athletes in the world to the finest, smallest detail. I am truly blessed, and none of this would be possible if not for all the love and support that you guys all show me. I could not have imagined this would be my life. I’m just a kid from the northside of Lafayette, Louisiana thank you all so much.

Bryant said in a statement that there is “no one better to teach MMA” than Cormier.

“Detail was designed to teach the next generation of greats how to strategize their sport by those who have already mastered it,” said Bryant, CEO of Granity Studios and creator of Detail. “There is no one better to teach MMA than DC. Not only is he one of the greatest to ever enter the octagon, but his ability to communicate the how, why and what of UFC fights is unparalleled. Now that the UFC is available on ESPN+, expanding Detail to support their coverage will help bring more insight to the tactics and strategy behind each fight.”
