Dan Orlovsky may position himself as one of America’s top football analysts… but he’s simultaneously one of its worst food critics. And his ranking of the most overrated Halloween candies is no exception.
Asking Dan Orlovsky for food takes is like asking Wile E. Coyote how to catch a road runner. You just shouldn’t do it. And yet on Halloween morning, ESPN morning show Get Up asked Orlovsky to rank his top five overrated Halloween candies.
Inexplicably, or maybe in this case it makes perfect sense, the NFL expert analyst named Reese’s peanut butter cups as his most overrated candy. Also in the ignominious list were Butterfingers, Twizzlers, Nerds, and Hershey’s chocolate bars.
Feast your eyes on the carnage below, complete with Get Up trolling their own star with an incredible chyron that reads “ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky with another terrible food take.”

Orlovsky tried to defend the indefensible by arguing that the peanut butter cup has too much chocolate and not enough peanut butter, before pulling out a box of Reese’s Pieces as his favorite candy because they have a higher peanut butter ratio. Apparently the man just hates milk chocolate for some reason. If that’s the case, then trick or treaters visiting the Orlovsky residence shouldn’t be surprised if they just get jars of Jif and plain, unseasoned chicken in their bags on Halloween night.
In the annals of Dan Orlovsky bad food takes, this has to rank right up there alongside his distaste for chocolate chip cookies and eating a caesar salad for Thanksgiving. Dissing Reese’s peanut butter cups, an American treasure and literally the best food combination ever created, can not be tolerated.
