In perhaps the most highly anticipated game of Week 6, the Dallas Cowboys came out and were dominated by the Detroit Lions en route to a 47-9 loss. As you may expect, given the Cowboys’ popularity, naturally, this was a huge talking point on ESPN’s First Take and various other programming on Monday morning.

First Take figurehead Stephen A. Smith got perhaps the best birthday gift possible on Monday’s edition of the show, relishing that he got to go on national television on his birthday and rip the Cowboys after their embarrassing loss.

But despite this, it may have actually been Dan Orlovsky who gave the harshest assessment of where the Cowboys are currently at, saying that their championship window is closed and that there “isn’t a single thing” that the team does well.

“The Cowboys window’s closed,” said Orlovsky. “For anybody who thought this roster was even remotely close to the one we’ve seen win 12 games three years in a row, you’re kidding yourself. There’s not a single thing on this football team that they do well. There’s not a single person on this football team that this year that stands out.

“CeeDee Lamb has had moments, Dak Prescott has had a couple of moments, but nobody on this team stands out. And for everyone that thinks that Micah (Parsons) coming back and DeMarcus Lawrence coming back, who are two great players, and (Daron) Bland coming back is going to rescue them. — it’s not! It’s not!

“They play San Francisco next week. And then after that, they have the Falcons, who are sitting at 4-2 and scored 45 yesterday. There is not a ray of hope right now for the Dallas Cowboys.”

You can’t get much more pessimistic about a team than Orlovsky is right now about the Cowboys. And while their 3-3 record on the year would indicate that they are far from out of contention in the NFC, Orlovsky clearly feels like this Cowboys team is a roster that is built to fail.
