Missouri was no match for Alabama in Saturday’s SEC matchup of ranked teams. The blowout did give Booger McFarland a chance to have some fun while going over the highlights.

At halftime of Saturday night’s game between LSU and Texas A&M, McFarland and Kevin Negandhi were showing highlights of some of the day’s other games. One such game was the Crimson Tide’s 34-0 win over Missouri.

“Look at the power right there,” Negandhi said, referencing Alabama running back Justice Haynes’ 35-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. “They settled in and played their style.

“I feel like this was their LANK game. They let all the naysayers know that Alabama’s not dead yet,” McFarland added, which caused both Neghandi and McFarland to laugh.

For those who might have forgotten, during the pregame show for last season’s Rose Bowl, a CFP semifinal game between Alabama and Michigan, host Rece Davis referenced apparel worn by Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, which says “LANK.” As Davis said, “It’s an acronym that stands for Let A Naysayer Know.”

But before Davis could finish, Pat McAfee interrupted, saying that he thought it stood for something different. Everyone on set subsequently broke down laughing.

It’s also nice when a funny moment from the past makes its way into the highlights.
