Bill Walton served as the color commentator for ESPN2’s USC-Oregon broadcast Thursday night, which means that weird things were said on ESPN2’s USC-Oregon broadcast Thursday night.

And there was one particularly weird moment in the second half, when Walton — known among other things as the “World’s Tallest Deadhead” — said Dave Pasch’s 12-year-old son should go with him on an upcoming Grateful Dead tour. Pasch understandably doesn’t want his 12-year-old son going with Walton to concerts known every bit as much for the “activities” that take place as the actual music.

Here’s the hilarious exchange:

Walton: Zeke has gotta come out on the Dead tour.

Pasch: No, no, no. He’s 12. He’s not going with you.

Walton: That’s the perfect time to go.

Pasch: You’re not going to corrupt my only son.

Walton: Corrupt him? Corrupt him? We’re going to expand his horizons! We’re going to shine the light! We’re going to show the love!

Walton also got a Grateful Dead reference in with whatever he was talking about here:
