Friday night’s Arizona State-Oregon game in the Pac-12 Tournament headed to overtime following an uneventful final 90 seconds of regulation, and Bill Walton felt nature calling.

So he went ahead and rushed to the bathroom in between the end of regulation and overtime, leaving Dave Pasch momentarily alone at the ESPN commentary table. Naturally, he had some fun with the unexpected departure.

“Hopefully Bill will be back. I’m sure some of you at home are perhaps hoping he doesn’t come back for overtime.”

Walton did return (as you saw at the end of that clip) and immediately called a Kenny Wooten dunk, to the laughter of Pasch.

Oregon went on to win 79-75 in an overtime period that saw the teams combine for 15 free throws, and that could be described as “bowling shoe ugly”. They’ll face Washington on Saturday in the Pac-12 tournament final.
