On Tuesday night, ESPN NHL analyst Barry Melrose co-anchored the 11 p.m. ET SportsCenter with his friend and fellow hockey maven Steve Levy. One of the more interesting segments came when Melrose had the opportunity to interview fellow mullethead Mike Gundy, the head football coach of Oklahoma State. And seeing them side-by-side was truly a sight for the viewers tuning into SportsCenter.
First, just having Levy and Melrose co-hosting a SportsCenter was interesting enough. Then having a “Mullet to Mullet” interview made for some amazing television as you can see below:
And two talked about having the right hair product for their mullets, Gundy’s wife “kinda” liking his hair, calling the lettuce on his head “The Arkansas Waterfall,” and having good genes to grow his hair the right way.
It was five minutes of TV gold. We knew Barry Melrose could be funny, but to conduct a very funny interview was a surprise. Reaction on Twitter was positive:
I just saw Barry Melrose interview OSU Football Coach Mike Gundy regarding his mullet! Two hair guys not afraid to talk hair!

Perhaps we could have this become a regular SportsCenter segment.
