Alabama made history Saturday with a thrilling extra-inning victory in NCAA Softball Super Regional action, leading to one of the more entertaining post-game interviews you’ll see.

Kristen White’s infield chopper with the bases loaded in the 14th inning gave the Crimson Tide a 3-2 victory over Tennessee. The victory ended the longest Super Regional game in college women’s softball history, and set up Sunday’s series finale. The winner goes on to face UCLA in the Women’s College World Series.

A reason to celebrate, to be sure, and the celebration continued into White’s post-game interview with ESPN. How many times have we seen athletes dump an ice cooler on their teammate during these interviews, or slam a pie in their face?

That is so clichéd. The Crimson Tide players were far more creative.

“Kristen, I think you’re in there somewhere,” play-by-play man Eric Frede noted.

“Yeah, somewhere,” Stewart laughed, adjusting all her costume props.

This probably won’t catch on as the new post-game victory celebration in sports, but it certainly worked Saturday.
