ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter will add yet another role to his job description this football season.
The longtime top NFL newsbreaker for the Worldwide Leader will join The Insiders on NFL Network each Wednesday, according to OutKick’s Bobby Burack. The show sees top NFL Network reporters share insights on the big stories each evening.
Previously, The Insiders was co-hosted by Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo. Following ESPN’s acquisition of NFL Media, Pelissero departed as part of a larger talent overhaul. The two networks are expected to share talent and cross over with programming going forward, similar to how SEC Network and ACC Network function under the ESPN umbrella.
Per OutKick, Schefter will not be the only addition to The Insiders’ weekly lineup. Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano are expected to contribute to the program as well.
Schefter is one of the more omnipresent personalities across ESPN’s programming. The veteran reporter makes regular contributions to all three of the network’s daytime shows (Get Up, First Take and The Pat McAfee Show), as well as NFL Live, SportsCenter and Monday Night Countdown.
Schefter’s news updates are closely watched across the NFL world. On The Insiders, he figures to get a chance to share insights and bounce his perspective off fellow reporters.
The show may also be the ultimate test of the collaboration between Rapoport and Schefter, longtime rivals for NFL scoops who now work together. Last year, Rapoport called his relationship with Schefter “professional and cordial” and said it would be “fine” if the two were paired up. One sign of their new alliance is that each has recently begun tagging the other in news posts on social media.
The Insiders airs at 7 p.m. ET on NFL Network, as well as the ESPN app.
