Bill Walton Dave Pasch popcorn

This is our weekly look at the most popular — or in some cases our personal favorite — videos on Clippit over the past week. Clippit is an awesome app that allows us to quickly grab 30-second clips from several live TV broadcasts and share them on social media.

ESPN honors Chris Berman and Tom Jackson by naming the NFL studio after them

Sunday was the last day Chris Berman will ever host an NFL show at ESPN’s studios, and ESPN surprised him with Chris Mortensen and Tom Jackson in-studio during Sunday NFL Countdown.

And there was another big surprise in store, as Mortensen read a statement to Berman and Jackson that ESPN had named their NFL studio in Bristol the “Chris Berman-Tom Jackson Studio”:

Jackson and Berman worked together on NFL Countdown and NFL Primetime for 29 years. Very, very cool move by ESPN.

Kevin Harlan says Trey Burke went to Ohio State, which is definitely not true

Washington Wizards guard Trey Burke went to school at Michigan. He was the Big Ten Player of the Year at Michigan in 2013. This all did not happen at Ohio State, Michigan’s biggest rival.

Well, Kevin Harlan got that wrong during the Wizards-Knicks game on TNT:

Yes, those may be the two schools you do not want to do that with, but mistakes happen and Kevin Harlan is awesome. Also, Burke is actually from Columbus and was Mr. Ohio Basketball at a Columbus high school in 2011. So, if you’re going to make the Ohio State-Michigan mix-up, this is an understandable one.

Bill Walton was in peak Bill Walton form for the Cal-Oregon game in Eugene

I’ve watched a lot of Bill Walton broadcasts over the years, and last Thursday in Eugene he was as hilarious/nutty as I’ve ever seen/heard him. I got many Clippits, and could’ve gotten, many, many more with the rare form — yes, even for him — Walton was in.

Here’s Walton growling, again:

Walton dumping popcorn on Pasch:

Walton working out at the Marcus Mariota performance center, and dropping an “It is Dave, right?” (a running joke if you watch these broadcasts):

Walton going into some crazy room after working out and saying, “This is pretty much like backstage at the Grateful Dead concerts. I miss college.”

Then Walton praising referee Steve Olsen:

Only to soon criticize a call from the same ref:

And then rip the same ref AGAIN, after growling AGAIN. Pasch may have been the best part here, saying, “You just said Steve Olsen was the best official in the country, and now you’re ripping him.”

Finally, the broadcast ends with Walton again going with the “Dave?” move and Pasch saying, “I’m never eating popcorn again.”
